Your One-Stop Shop For Whimsy Goods
From Homemade Holiday Gifts To A Gift Brand
It all started in 2013, when Jodi, the founder and creator behind The Neighborgoods, was running her own graphic design business. Looking to break into the food and beverage packaging industry, she illustrated a series of recipes to build her portfolio. Inspired by the illustrations, she came up with the idea to print the illustrated recipes on dish towels as holiday gifts for friends.
Realizing the project was a bit too ambitious for a single weekend, she signed up for a screen-printing class to hone her skills. One year later, she was hand screen-printing dish towels for everyone on her list, and The Neighborgoods was born.
What Started With A Dish Towel Has Grown Nationwide
Over the past decade, Jodi has grown The Neighborgoods into a small but mighty team. Together they’ve grown the product line far beyond dish towels. They have sold their goods in over 900 stores nationwide, including The Neighborgoods DC, their local makers gift shop, at Ronald Reagan National (DCA) Airport.
From their Washington DC studio, Jodi and her team continue to churn out sustainable goods for everyday life with a touch of color and whimsy to help make daily tasks around the home a little brighter. Each product is hand packaged with love, ready to gift (or keep!) and is sure to make you smile.
MEET THE TEAM

In her free time, she loves hunting for vintage finds at flea markets and diving into DIY project ( she hand-painted the floor at our very first shop). You can usually find her with a coffee in one hand and a few dish towels in her bag (they make great napkins on the go). She is mom to two dogs, Frankie and Betty, and a living room full of plants.

River (they/them/theirs) is the Studio Operations Assistant at The Neighborgoods. They are a DC native artist with a focus in fiber arts such as weaving and sewing. In their free time, they are usually tending their garden, packing a local mutual aid library, hiking, or moshing at Pie Shop. Their lifelong dream is to live in a cobhouse (made of hay, clay, sand, and water) with an orchard and food forest.
