Gift Wrapping Ideas for the Holidays and Beyond

Gift Wrapping Ideas for the Holidays and Beyond

One of the main reasons I started this blog was to create a lasting home for our gift guides, a space where they can be revisited and enjoyed year after year.

In 2020, I began curating a Gift Guide Giveaway that featured thoughtful gift ideas from fellow small businesses, along with creative ways to wrap them using our signature dish towels. These guides not only offer unique gift inspiration but also highlighted eco-friendly wrapping solutions.

You can explore our 2023 Gift Guide here and our 2022 Gift Guide here—the year our blog was born. Although we didn’t manage to create a gift guide this year, I wanted to share some of my favorite gift guide picks from over the years before we fully found our rhythm in the blogosphere. So, we hope you enjoy these gift guide picks and let them inspire your gift-giving this season.

1. WINE IS ALWAYS FINE

My go-to-gift is a bottle of wine wrapped up in one of our dish towels. It works for all seasons and occasions: holidays, house warming, hostess gift, birthdays, etc...

2. GIFTS FOR FOODIES

I love a foodie gift (obvi), and these Brooklyn Dehli sauces are SO GOOD. You can use them as dips, add to sandwiches, or spice up a cheese plate. Wrap 'em up in a cheese dish towel and your foodie friend is going to love this gift.

You can find Brooklyn Delhi products here, and our cheese plate dish towel here. Click here for a tutorial video of how you can wrap it all together. But warning, I think I got better at videos since then so bear with me on this, it's slow but I promise informative...and let's just not talk about my hair color, haha.

3. WHO DOESN'T LOVE CHOCOLATE?

For those people you really just don't know what to get them, I vote chocolates. I picked my all time favorite chocolates, Bon Bon Bon, which are not only the cutest, but also the most delicious, but you can wrap any chocolate box up using this technique.

You can find Bon Bon Bons here, and our selection of dish towels here, if you aren't a wine and chocolates person another good pairing could be our coffee tea towel. Click here for a tutorial video of how you can wrap this all together.

4. CHEERS TO COCKTAILS

These Camp Craft Cocktail Kits create delicious, easy-to-make cocktails for a group, and when wrapped in one of our dish towels, they make the cutest gift.

Click here for a  tutorial on how to wrap these jars with our towels. Insider tip, if you're wrapping more than one, you can pick up one of our towel sets here and get a little deal per dish towel.

Since we no longer carry our apple towel from our 2021 example above, an updated combo idea is their old fashioned kit with our orange towel. They have lots of other great flavors as well, you can check them out here, and of course see all of our towels here.

5. CANDLES FOR THE WIN

Among the many things that I learned during my year as a retailer shop owner back in 2019 (you can read about our journey here), is that people LOVE CANDLES. So you really can't go wrong here. These candles are from Pure Palette Scents, a fellow local business in the DC area who make their candles out of their shop, Gift & Gather, in Occoquan, VA (where you can also find a selection of Neighborgods as well).

As you probably have noticed, for most of these gift ideas the wrapping technique is very similar. So once you get the hang of it you can find a way to easily wrap up all of your gifts this season like olive oil in our olive towel, a fancy tomato sauce in our tomato towel, a jar of your favorite pickles in our pickle towel...you get the idea!

Happy gifting!

Jodi
